AI Enhances Thought Leadership, Attends Key Industry Events
In keeping with the Appraisal Institute’s commitment to convey its thought leadership to valuation professionals and others, I was joined by Vice President Scott Robinson, MAI, SRA, AI-GRS, at the Union of Pan American Valuers’ meeting, December 1-3, in Santiago, Chile. I also attended meetings in Washington, DC, December 15-16, with several federal agency chief appraisers, as well as an entire day at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission meeting with SEC commissioners, staff and the newly-appointed chief accountant. I also humbly represented AI at the memorial service for AIREA past president Peter Bowes, MAI. Peter was an outstanding leader in the valuation profession and he will be missed.

Other News Around AI

And here’s some other important news from the Appraisal Institute:

  • AI posted a new video to its YouTube channel where International Relations Committee Chair Leslie Sellers, MAI, SRA; Chief Executive Officer Fred Grubbe, MBA, CAE; and I discussed AI’s international efforts.
  • The Appraisal Institute continues to grow its social media presence. Be sure to follow AI on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube.

As this is the final message of my presidency, I’d like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to my fellow members of the Executive Committee, the Board of Directors, region and chapter leaders, and all the staff of the Appraisal Institute for their hard work and dedication, which helped our organization grow significantly during the past year. I’d also like to thank each and every AI professional, including the many I’ve met during my travels around the country. You represent the best of the best in the valuation profession, and I’m grateful for your ongoing commitment. It truly has been a tremendous honor and privilege serving the Appraisal Institute and its individuals as president! Thank you!

Here’s wishing you a wonderful holiday season and a prosperous New Year!
