The Appraisal Institute has announced its “Volunteer of Distinction” honorees for October: Trevor Hubbard, MAI, SRA, of Region VII (San Diego Chapter); and Joel D. Salley, SRA, of Region X (Florida Gulf Coast Chapter).
The Appraisal Institute’s member recognition program honors members for their volunteer service to the Appraisal Institute, to the real estate valuation profession and to their local communities. Each month, the Appraisal Institute recognizes one honoree in each region as a Volunteer of Distinction.
Region VII consists of Arizona, Hawaii, Southern California and Southern Nevada. Region X consists of Florida, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.
Hubbard, a member of the Appraisal Institute since 2006, serves on the Leadership Development and Advisory Council, and received the 2012 William T. Anglyn Award for his exemplary contribution to the event. He was also chair of the Associate Member Guidance Group. He is on the Board of Directors of the San Diego Chapter, and serves as alternate regional representative. He served on the Technology Committee from 2007-2010.
Salley, a member of the Appraisal Institute since 1987, served as Florida Gulf Coast Chapter president and regional representative in 2010, and was vice president and alternate regional representative from 2008-2009. He was secretary in 2007, and has served on a variety of committees.
Appraisal Institute members may nominate members by submitting the nomination form to their chapter’s executive director or president. Each region’s honorees then are chosen by their regional executive director in conjunction with the region’s chair and vice chair. See the nomination form and additional information about the “Volunteer of Distinction” program.
