Appraisers come to the valuation profession for a whole host of reasons. In the Appraisal Institute’s latest video, Michael Tankersley, MAI, SRA, AI-GRS, AI-RRS; Bonnie Roerig, MAI, AI-GRS; and Robert Elliott, Jr. MAI, SRA, share the perks of their jobs.
Tankersley cited the ability to solve complex assignments, to choose his own clients and the ability to control his schedule. Roerig enjoys the variety of assignments she is able to complete and the ability to coordinate with other appraisers to share best practices. Elliott stated that the valuation profession is perfect for natural problem solvers and gives him the ability to work on his own schedule and spend time with his family.
