Some of my proudest moments as an Appraisal Institute Designated Member have been working with Candidates and Practicing Affiliates to help them achieve their Demonstration of Knowledge portion of the designation process. Over the years it has brought me great pride when former Candidates or Practicing Affiliates find me at an event to show me the designation behind their name.
One of the great things about the Appraisal Institute is how the veterans and the newcomers cheer each other on. I am proud to be part of an organization that puts such an emphasis on collaboration. I know that this year’s Annual Conference will be a great place to continue that spirit of collaboration. Whether this is your tenth conference or your first – and no matter how long you’ve been an AI professional – this year’s Annual Conference will be an event you won’t want to miss.

Online Registration Closes Soon for 2022 Annual Conference
Online registration for the 2022 Appraisal Institute Annual Conference closes July 11. This year’s conference will be held Aug. 2-3 at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas.
The Annual Conference will be a great place to celebrate our collective successes and learn from respected leaders in the valuation profession. We’ll get an opportunity to hear from motivational speaker Ryan Leak and celebrate the best and brightest of the profession with AI’s Annual Awards.

University Relations Committee Works with Atlanta University Group
As I’ve shared in previous messages, diversity, equity and inclusion is a top priority for the Appraisal Institute. I’m pleased to tell you that our latest effort in this regard is the University Relations Committee’s (URC) work with the Atlanta University Center Consortium (AUCC) institutions (Morehouse College, Spelman College and Clark-Atlanta University). The Appraisal Institute Board of Directors has prioritized URC’s work with the AUCC and has postponed consideration of the URC’s proposed pilot program for further discussion at its November meeting. Stay tuned for details about this effort.
