Video: Why Attend the Appraisal Institute Annual Meeting?

In the Appraisal Institute’s latest video, four AI professionals share why they attended the Annual Meeting.

The four individuals featured in the video are:

  • Terry Bernhardt, SRA, AI-RRS, who said the Annual Meeting is a get-together with “several hundred of [his] closest friends.”
  • Sladjana Popovic, Candidate for Designation, who traveled from Serbia to attend the Annual Meeting, said it gives her a “feel” for the expanding valuation industry.
  • John Meyer, SRA, said the Annual Meeting educated him about what’s going on in the profession.
  • Rob Elliott, MAI, SRA, said the continuing education is “very beneficial.”

AI Addresses ‘Green’ Issues at White House Roundtable

AI Announces Annual Meeting Speaker

Mark G. Dotzour, Ph.D., chief economist and director of research for the Real Estate Center at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, has accepted our invitation to speak at a general session of the 2014 Annual Meeting. As chief economist, he is currently doing market research to monitor how global and national trends are likely to impact residential and commercial real estate markets, and he will share his insights with Annual Meeting attendees.

Attendees will experience first-class education and extensive networking options, the opportunity to earn Appraisal Institute CE credit and state credit, cutting-edge exhibits from valuation profession vendors, an awards dinner honoring top valuation professionals and the chance to explore numerous social and recreational activities in Austin.

AI Board Approves Continuing Education Revisions

I’m excited to share some important information about AI’s review designations program, which is a significant milestone in our organization’s history.

AI Selects Names for Review Designations

The Appraisal Institute’s Board of Directors voted October 30 to approve the review designations to be AI-GRS (Appraisal Institute – General Review Specialist) and AI-RRS (Appraisal Institute –Residential Review Specialist), and for the review designation program to
commence January 1, 2014. The AI-GRS and AI-RRS designations will be the Appraisal Institute’s first new designations in more than 20 years.

Beginning in 2014, AI will offer four new courses to address review designations. Review Theory — Residential and Review Theory — Generalare scheduled to be released in first quarter 2014. Review Case Studies — Residential and Review Case Studies — General are scheduled to premiere in July 2014.

Early Registration Closes May 18 for AI 2013 Annual Meeting

Appraisal Institute Vice President M. Lance Coyle, MAI, SRA, reveals details about this year’s Annual Meeting that will be held July 23 – 25 at the Hyatt Regency in Indianapolis in the organization’s latest video.ai_2013_annmtg_shaking_hands

At this year’s Annual Meeting, attendees will have the chance to experience more than 30 first-class education programs, including the chance to earn up to 16 hours of Appraisal Institute continuing education credit and state credit.

Keynote Speaker Announced for Appraisal Institute 2013 Annual Meeting

Appraisal Institute President Richard L. Borges, II, MAI, SRA, discusses the Appraisal Institute’s 2013 Annual Meeting in the organization’s latest YouTube video, and reveals details about this year’s keynote speaker.

This year’s keynote speaker will be Ron Insana, a business reporter with cable networks CNBC and MSNBC, who covers economic and market issues. He’ll talk to AI Annual Meeting attendees about economic policy issues on Capitol Hill and what they mean for Wall Street and Main Street.
