Annual Conference Registration Now Open

May 27, 2022 by Appraisal Institute Staff

Dear Appraisal Institute Colleague:

Dick Clark once said, “Music is the soundtrack of your life,” which is more true for many of us as we get into the hot summer months and listen to our favorite tunes with the windows down. My favorite artists are Garth Brooks and Alan Jackson, so you’ll catch me listening to them from time to time when I have an opportunity to unwind. While driving, I get funny looks while singing and wiggling around to the beat. The sound of my song is likely causing nearby dogs to bark. Like most folks, a car is a highly public personal space providing comedy for those around me. Nothing beats singing along to “Papa Loved Mama” or “Chasin’ that Neon Rainbow.”

It’s around this time every year that there’s talk on the radio about the “song of the summer,” but this year I’ve got a new listening recommendation for you – the Appraisal Institute’s brand new podcast, “Face Value.” The first episode was launched earlier this month and I know you’ll find the content to be interesting and valuable. Read more about “Face Value” – and other important Appraisal Institute news – below.

Registration Open for 2022 Annual Conference
Now is the best time to register for the 2022 Appraisal Institute Annual Conference, to be held Aug. 2-3 at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas. Just like in years past, this year’s Annual Conference will be a great opportunity to learn, connect and have a lot of fun. I look forward to seeing you there.

As we announced last month, motivational speaker and author Ryan Leak will serve as our keynote speaker. Ryan helps leaders better understand where their teams are capable of going by addressing the friction of where teams stand today. Using humorous wisdom and poignant narrative, he inspires audiences to recognize the value in chasing failure to become even more than they are – to become the best version of themselves.

Appraisal Institute Professionals Encouraged to Volunteer for National Service
It’s that time of year to think about serving on Appraisal Institute national committees and affiliated entities for 2023.

If you are interested in further serving the organization at the national level in 2023, please complete the Leadership Resource Registry no later than 5 p.m. CDT, Aug. 2, 2022. To be considered for national committees, panels, the Appraisal Institute Insurance Trust or the Appraisal Institute Education & Relief Foundation, if eligible, you must express your interests within the Registry. To access the Registry, log on to the AI Website and click on the link: https://www.appraisalinstitute.org/about/ai-volunteer-opportunities/.

Even if you submitted your interests last year in the Registry and there are no changes to your preferences, you will need to log back into the Registry.

We thank you in advance for indicating your preferences in the Registry. We look forward to a strong response, which will help to broaden the base of participation in the organization and serve as a source of new ideas and growth.

If you have questions or need assistance completing the Registry, please contact Rachael Georges at rgeorges@appraisalinstitute.org.
